Privacy and data handling
Last updated 4 September 2026
This page describes what actually happens to your information, in the order it happens. It is written from how the site is built rather than from a template.
The file you upload is not stored
When you upload a valuation report, the file is held in memory for as long as it takes to read the numbers out of it, and is then discarded. It is never written to disk, never written to file storage, and never sent anywhere except to the model that extracts the fields. What we log about it is its size, its page count and which vendor produced it.
If you type the numbers in instead, there is no file at all.
What is kept, and for how long
- Your audit — the fields you confirmed, the findings, and the estimated range. Kept for 30 days so you can return to the link, then hard-deleted by a scheduled job. Deleted means deleted: the rows are removed, not marked hidden.
- Your order, if you buy a packet — the payment reference, your email, your state and the amount. Kept for seven years because it is a tax record. The packet files themselves are deleted after 30 days.
- A daily counter keyed to your IP address, used only to limit how many free audits one connection can run in a day. It holds a count, not a history.
- Your email address, if you ask for something by email — the first-72-hours checklist, the link to an audit you ran, or a note when a rule changes — with the date you asked and which of those you asked for, and nothing else. No name, no claim details. Kept until you ask us to drop it, which you can do by replying to anything we send. Never sold and never passed to anyone.
There are no accounts
You never create one. Your audit and your packet are reached through links containing a signed code, which is why those links are worth keeping private — anyone holding one can see that audit.
Who else sees anything
- The model providers that read your report and write the explanations.
- Stripe, if you pay. We never see or store your card details.
- Our email provider, to send you the packet.
- Analytics that count page views and events. There are no third-party advertising pixels on this site, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
We email you once to deliver your packet, and once more about three weeks later with a single question about whether it helped. That second message has an unsubscribe link and there is nothing else.
If you ask for the checklist or for the link to your audit, that one email is sent at once. If you ask to hear when a rule changes (or you asked for the checklist, whose form says so too), you get one short note when the ledger records a rule change or a correction, and at no other time. An address left only for an audit link gets that one email and is never written to again.
Asking us to delete something
Audits delete themselves after 30 days. If you want yours gone sooner, or want a copy of what we hold, reply to any email from us and we will do it. Order records we have to keep for tax purposes, and we will tell you if that applies.
ClaimMath publishes information about insurance claim valuation rules and prepares self-help documents that you review and send yourself. It is not a law firm, public adjuster, or licensed appraiser, and nothing here is legal advice or a substitute for it.
